I knock on Joey and Maddy’s door and I’m greeted with a bright, welcoming smile on Joey’s face. ”Hi Lupita, come on in, we are almost ready”. I entered the room and was stunned by the sight of a beautiful bohemian chic beauty; Maddy in her beautiful lace wedding dress, perfectly styled hair, a jaw dropping bouquet with tropical flowers and delicate touches of boho jewelry and other meaningful accessories. Like the lace sleeves on her dress, that were made out of cut outs from her mom’s wedding dress. We introduce ourselves and immediately begin shooting. The light was perfect as it was natural, so i put my flash away and Shirley, my assistant, used their gopro to film the whole thing instead. I am certain the center of attention of that video was my matrix/ballerina/yoga moves while working on getting angles from down low and way high…Sorry guys….
Their wedding story: they were actually already, legally married in the USA but kept their wedding vows to themselves until they could find a private setting to exchange them with each other. Villa Cayo on the Cristo Rey road (road that leads to Mountain Pine Ridge), was where they exchanged more than just words. The moments they shared were full of joyful tears, laughing and i swore i could almost see their chest bursting with emotion!! Feel the images 😉
